The lifting of the suspension of the FCT Land Swap Programme by the Federal Executive Council has been hailed as a revolutionary step towards bridging the infrastructural deficit in the nation\u2019s capital and a step forward for the country.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the decision, an investor and promoter of Ketti District under the FCDA land swap programme and chief executive officer of Hongye International Ltd, Mr Moses Ayom said the decision was a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n
Ayom, in a statement issued from Abuja, described the FEC resolution as a further evidence of President Buhari\u2019s endless commitment to fasttrack Nigeria\u2019s quest to overcome her infrastructural, housing and employment challenges.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cThis is a new dawn for Nigeria. A major stumbling block for investor confidence has been lifted. I congratulate all Nigerians for this\u201d.<\/p>\n
Explaining the benefits of the decision, Ayom who was on the first Presidential trade mission to China in 2016 along with Africa\u2019s richest man Alhaji Aliko Dangote, stated that with the opening of new districts, cases of traffic congestion, housing deficits, infrastructural decay and environmental hazards will become things of the past. Alhaji Dangote is also a beneficiary of the Land swap project (Sheretti district).\u201d<\/p>\n
He expressed delight that with this decision, his dream of establishing Africa\u2019s largest Green Smart City in Ketti will now be a reality, while further revealing that Nigerians will soon begin to witness urbanization programmes similar to cities like Dubai, Qatar, Schenzen and Milton Keynes.<\/p>\n
Ayom assured Nigerians that the cost of housing will be drastically reduced with the various partnerships and synergies investors like him have put in place. He disclosed further that already, the Hongye group has signed a development partnership agreement with the Federal Housing Authority and other international environmental investors to develop Ketti district covering 308 hecters to international standards.<\/p>\n
The entrepreneur who was recently honoured with the award of \u201c Outstanding Advocate of China\/Nigeria Relations \u201c by the Chinese Government expressed delight that the massive infrastructure projects will absorb thousands of unemployed youths as his sister companies operating quarry sites will now be put to proper use.<\/p>\n
He praised the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Mr Godwin Emefiele for approving a N1billion loan under the Real Sector Support Facility to his company Granite and Marble Ltd as counterpart funding in an investment agreement signed with SBM China Ltd, one of the world\u2019s biggest manufacturers of mining equipment to establish Africa\u2019s largest mining processing plant in Abuja to be drawn from Zenith Bank Plc.<\/p>\n
He said. \u201cThis is the time to realize the full benefits of this agreement that was signed during the presidential trade mission to China in 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ketti District , one of the districts approved under the FCT land swap Programme is located on a vast greenfield along the airport road and is designed for low and medium density housing and commercial use.
