Hon. Sola Osolana, the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Agege Local Government area of Lagos State, in the July 24 Council elections is facing intellectual property theft allegation.<\/p>\n
Osolana\u2019s accuser is Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat, the younger brother of the state deputy governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.<\/p>\n
Prince Hamzat is the current Vice-chairman of Ifako-Ijaye Local Government and doubles as the chairmanship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the council in the forthcoming local government poll in the state.<\/p>\n
The APC candidate accused Osolana of appropriating the blueprint for his (Hamzat\u2019s) election campaign tagged: H.E.E.D.S and threatened to take legal action against the Agege PDP candidate if he did not desist.<\/p>\n
The foregoing account was contained in a letter from Hamzat\u2019s counsel, Oluwatosin Arigbanla, Esq. of Vitals Law Firm to Osolana.<\/p>\n
The letter reads in part: \u201cIt has come to our notice that you have directly and\/or indirectly used and\/or caused to be used on your behalf the aforementioned idea for your personal gain and\/or political acceptability as if same was innovated by you.<\/p>\n
\u201cPursuant to the above herein stated, we hereby give you notice to refrain from using the H.E.E.D.S Agenda nor cause same to be used on your behalf as our client had both in equity and law obtained the first right of usage.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease take further notice that if you fail and\/or refuse and\/or willingly refuse and\/or decide and\/or neglect to refrain from the said idea as herein stated, we shall appropriately involve relevant authorities and\/or take necessary legal action(s) against you.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, when our correspondent reached out to Osolana’s campaign\u00a0 office, he said ” I have not received any later and my agenda was coined from the basic amenities of life: Functional Health Care System, Empowerment of the residents, Education with modern day facilities and Development of decayed Infrastructures.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
