{"id":1971,"date":"2021-07-29T16:37:45","date_gmt":"2021-07-29T15:37:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alimoshotv.com\/?p=1971"},"modified":"2021-07-29T16:37:45","modified_gmt":"2021-07-29T15:37:45","slug":"drug-cartels-must-be-crushed-marwa-tells-senior-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alimoshotv.com\/index.php\/2021\/07\/29\/drug-cartels-must-be-crushed-marwa-tells-senior-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"Drug cartels must be crushed, Marwa tells senior officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Buba Marwa, chairman and chief executive officer, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has asked officers of the agency to crush drug cartels across Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1972\" src=\"https:\/\/alimoshotv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/116569156_bubamarwamuhammadbubamarwanationaldruglawenformentagencychairman-1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alimoshotv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/116569156_bubamarwamuhammadbubamarwanationaldruglawenformentagencychairman-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/alimoshotv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/116569156_bubamarwamuhammadbubamarwanationaldruglawenformentagencychairman-1.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Marwa spoke on Wednesday during a ceremony to decorate newly promoted deputy commanders-general of narcotics and assistant commanders-general of narcotics, (ACGNs) on Thursday in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>He said the exercise was part of the agency\u2019s efforts to ensure that the nation\u2019s anti-drug war succeeds, adding that \u201cany clog in our wheels, we\u2019ll destroy and must be crushed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis war must be pursued relentlessly, the entire country mobilised and we must succeed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, I charge all the topmost officers of this agency to go all out and crush the drug scourge in every part of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NDLEA boss attributed the success recorded by the agency to the support of President Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n<p>He said the president had approved payment of liabilities and entitlements owed to staff for years and also burial expenses due to families of deceased officers since 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Marwa assured the NDLEA officers that their welfare and care would continue to remain a priority for his administration.<\/p>\n<p>Under the watch of the former military administrator of Lagos state, the NDLEA has intercepted\u00a0at least N71.4 billion worth of drugs\u00a0in various parts of the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Buba Marwa, chairman and chief executive officer, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has asked officers of the agency to crush drug cartels across Nigeria.
