Lagos Traffic Radio has continued to receive accolades for its timely and innovative delivery of travel advisory that\u00a0has\u00a0aided easy transportation and enhanced commercial activities across sectors of the local economy.<\/p>\n
Speakers at the traffic radio station\u2019s Gala and Awards\u00a0Night organised as part of the activities highlighted to celebrate\u00a010\u00a0years of broadcasting with the theme: \u2018Celebrating 10 Years of Traffic Reportage Gaining Momentum for the Future\u2019, were unanimous in showering praises on its management and staff for making Lagos proud.<\/p>\n
Commending Lagos Traffic Radio, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso,\u00a0said the last\u00a010\u00a0years of the Station have been sustained\u00a0by\u00a0innovative leadership\u00a0ideas that\u00a0have expanded\u00a0its\u00a0frontiers\u00a0beyond just traffic reporting.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that the station also provides information on\u00a0Rail, Waterways and Flight schedules.<\/p>\n
Omotoso,\u00a0who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Olusina Thorpe,\u00a0reiterated the Lagos State Government’s commitment to delivering\u00a0a robust Intermodal transport system for the benefit of all\u00a0Lagosians.<\/p>\n
The Commissioner applauded the Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM team saying, \u201cI want to urge you not to rest on your oars in empowering Lagosians with the best of traffic information and travel advisory, keep the flag flying in this venture and be rest assured that the government\u00a0is\u00a0solidly behind you\u201d.<\/p>\n
In his welcome address, the General Manager of the Station, Mr.\u00a0Tayo Akanle, maintained\u00a0that the station’s resilience is a reflection of\u00a0the \u2018Lagos Can Do Spirit\u2019,\u00a0which has made it the\u00a0fifth Largest Economy in West Africa.<\/p>\n
According to him, \u201cVerifiable successes recorded so far have greatly made the brand equity of the station become stronger, up-scaling its rating in the\u00a0comity of Broadcast Radio stations\u201d.<\/p>\n
Akanle said the feats achieved in Lagos,\u00a0in particular,\u00a0and Nigeria in general,\u00a0among other reasons,\u00a0informed the need to celebrate the\u00a0station,\u00a0just as\u00a0it gains\u00a0momentum to deliver more in the future.<\/p>\n
The event climaxed \u00a0the \u00a0month-long celebration of the station’s tenth year anniversary\u00a0that\u00a0featured the presentation of long service awards to staff, appreciation awards to individuals, agencies and NGOs\u00a0for their\u00a0contributions\u00a0to the\u00a0meteoric\u00a0growth of Lagos Traffic Radio.<\/p>\n
Attendees included\u00a0the\u00a0Body of Permanent Secretaries,\u00a0serving and retired officials of various Ministries, Departments and Agencies\u00a0of the Lagos State Government, Traffic Management Agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations, Staff and management of LTR and well wishers.<\/p>\n
