When the history of Alimosho Local Government is told, especially the Alimosho that emerged after the creation of the Local Council Development Areas, such individual(s) stand out.<\/p>\n
Over the years, Alimosho has witnessed different Chairmen in successive administrations. Each, in their own right, made contributions that were visible and measurable during and after their time in office. This article is not to undermine or judge any previous administration \u2014 performance is often a matter of perspective and personal evaluation.<\/p>\n
However, the emergence of the current Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, has brought a refreshing shift. Sworn in just months ago, he anchored his campaign on the WISE Agenda:<\/p>\n
W \u2013 Welfarism<\/p>\n
I \u2013 Infrastructure<\/p>\n
S \u2013 Security<\/p>\n
E \u2013 Education<\/p>\n
Short and simple as it appears, this manifesto has proven deep, impactful, and transformational. Today, less than four months into his administration, residents of Alimosho are singing praises.<\/p>\n
One resident even remarked, \u201cBy the end of his first tenure, all roads in Alimosho will have been fixed.\u201d What a commendation! To understand the excitement in the air, let us break down the W-I-S-E Agenda and appreciate why party leaders, members, and electorates are grateful for the choice made.<\/p>\n
W \u2013 Welfarism<\/p>\n
There is an age-long truth: \u201cTake care of public servants, and they will serve the public better.\u201d
\nSteve Jobs also famously said, \u201cYour employees are your greatest asset; treat them like it.\u201d Through personal interactions \u2014 some subtle, some direct, and others through playful debates \u2014 it has become evident that the workers of Alimosho Local Government are genuinely delighted with the new administration. Both new and long-serving staff are expressing their gratitude. Why? Because the Executive Chairman has placed their welfare above personal interest.<\/p>\n
From improved staff engagement to regular interactions between the Chairman, management, and the workforce, the environment now inspires motivation. Trainings and capacity-building sessions have resumed. Entitlements are being paid. Morale is high.<\/p>\n
Beyond the workforce, stakeholders such as traditional rulers, religious bodies, youth groups, people living with disabilities, and community organizations are experiencing renewed care and inclusion. Truly, joy is in the air.<\/p>\n
I \u2013 Infrastructure<\/p>\n
It is no longer news that this administration is fulfilling its promises on infrastructure with unprecedented speed and clarity of purpose.
\nIn less than four months, about seven roads are under construction, with three already completed and ready for commissioning. But this is only the beginning.Other completed or ongoing infrastructural interventions include:<\/p>\n
-Construction and completion of a Magistrate Court<\/p>\n
-Renovation of council religious facilities<\/p>\n
-Construction of public toilets<\/p>\n
-Improved health facilities across wards<\/p>\n
-Distribution of NEMA relief materials<\/p>\n
-Continuous desilting of waterways<\/p>\n
-Provision of 50% food discount sales to support residents<\/p>\n
-Completion of the CDC office<\/p>\n
-Upgrade of departmental offices within the council<\/p>\n
-Continuous support and infrastructural enhancement of primary schools<\/p>\n
-Employment opportunities for residents<\/p>\n
-And several other projects currently in progress<\/p>\n
-Alimosho has not witnessed this pace of infrastructural transformation in such a short period in recent years, no.<\/p>\n
S \u2013 Security<\/p>\n
Security is one of the pillars of sustainable development, and the administration has been proactive in this regard. The Chairman has strengthened relationships with security agencies, improved support logistics, and enhanced surveillance across critical areas.From empowering community policing teams to facilitating inter-agency cooperation, residents now enjoy a renewed sense of safety. Night-time activities in many areas have improved, and there is a noticeable decline in petty crimes where interventions have taken place.<\/p>\n
E \u2013 Education<\/p>\n
Education remains a priority for this administration. Through ongoing support for primary schools,and readiness to renovate facilities, provision of learning materials, and staff motivation, the council is laying a foundation that prepares children for a brighter future. Engagements with education stakeholders \u2014 from teachers to administrators \u2014 continue to foster collaboration and problem-solving. The philosophy is simple: build the learner, empower the teacher, strengthen the system.<\/p>\n
Truly, a new dawn in Alimosho is here, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson has, in just a few months, demonstrated that leadership is not about occupying an office but about delivering value.<\/p>\n
His WISE Agenda is not a slogan; it is a living policy framework reshaping lives daily.<\/p>\n
Alimosho is rising.
