The immediate past Councillor representing Ward A, Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Omobolaji Yusuf, has continued his annual widows\u2019 support programme through his foundation, the Bolaji Yusuf Movement (BYM). The humanitarian initiative, which began immediately after he was sworn in as a councillor, has now become a sustained tradition even after the completion of his two-year tenure in office.<\/p>\n
Hon. Yusuf noted that the programme was never tied to political office but driven by compassion and responsibility to the vulnerable in society. \u201cService to humanity should not end with holding public office,\u201d he said. \u201cThis widows\u2019 support initiative is a promise I made to myself and to God, and I am committed to sustaining it for as long as I am able.\u201d<\/p>\n
To the surprise of many residents, Hon. Yusuf\u2019s consistency has further distinguished him, as several public office holders often discontinue social interventions after leaving office. Speaking on this, he stated, \u201cLeadership is about impact, not position. Whether in office or not, I believe strongly that those God has blessed us with the opportunity to help must not be abandoned.\u201d<\/p>\n
Beneficiaries of the programme expressed gratitude for his continued support, describing him as a leader with a genuine heart for the people. One of the widows, Mrs. Adebisi Adeyemi, said, \u201cHonourable Yusuf has never forgotten us. Even after leaving office, he still remembers our struggles and stands by us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hon. Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to expanding the reach of the Bolaji Yusuf Movement, adding that the foundation will continue to focus on widows, youths, and other vulnerable groups within Alimosho. \u201cThis is only the beginning,\u201d he concluded. \u201cBy God\u2019s grace, BYM will keep touching lives and giving hope to those who need it most.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
