First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has officially handed over three mobile clinic units under the RHI\u2019s Love on Wheels project to boost healthcare delivery in underserved areas.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the handover ceremony in Abuja, Senator Oluremi Tinubu described the initiative as \u201ccare in action, a motion to strengthen health care delivery beyond hospital walls, improve access, shorten response times, and support flexible services, especially in emergencies and underserved areas through professional health care givers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Two of the mobile clinics were pledged to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on January 23, 2025, during the commissioning of the Nigerian Digital Museum in Abuja.
\nShe explained the delay in delivery stemmed from building the clinics from scratch to certification standards.<\/p>\n
The third clinic goes to Taraba State Government, promised during her official visit to the State on April 11, 2025, amid a health programme for frontline health workers.
\n\u201cWe visited, it was during a health programme\u2026 Frontline health workers,\u201d<\/p>\n
Emphasising non-partisan service, she highlighted the handover to Taraba, then under the People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP), administration.<\/p>\n
\u201cI said it would be good, despite they were from a different party. I said that from the beginning, we\u2019re all Nigerians. Party politics aside, but we have to provide a dividend of democracy to our people. And it\u2019s people first before party, and that\u2019s what we\u2019ve been doing,\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not afraid to campaign, when campaign starts, we\u2019ll campaign. But when we visit states, it\u2019s to reach out to every Nigerian, every concerned Nigerian that needs whatever little we have to offer.\u201d
\nThe First Lady prayed for responsible use of the clinics to save lives and complement state efforts.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is my prayer that our efforts through RHI\u2019s Love on Wheels project will be used responsibly and effectively to help save lives, respond to emergencies, and bring relief to families and communities,\u201d
\n\u201cTo the glory of God, I hereby hand over one RHI Love on Wheels home again to Taraba State Government, and two to the National Youth Service Corps.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas thanked Senator Oluremi Tinibu for the donation which he noted will go a long way in reaslising better health coverage in the state.
\nHe commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for stretching her scope of generosity beyond political party by reaching out to other people in States that are not under the ruling party APC.
\nGovernor Agbu Kefas noted the mobile clinic was his first such gift as governor.
\n\u201cNobody has ever given me any gift since I became governor. And our mother spoke to me when I was in PDP. It shows that it goes beyond party line and this is what we expect from leaders,\u201d.
\n\u201cOur mother has shown that she\u2019s a visionary mother and leader supporting the husband. And that is what women are supposed to do.\u201d
\n\u201cI will say that all the Renewed Hope Initiatives Women should impress on their husbands, the governors to make sure they get these mobile hospitals in their state if they have not yet.\u201d
\n\u201cI am only here to thank our mother of the nation First Lady on behalf of the good people of Taraba state for the donation of highly impactful, high standard Mobile hospital to Taraba state,\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not just hope or a facility but hope on wheel or like you say love on wheel, it is a life saving intervention that will reached communities that have waited for long. Communities where access to quality health care has remained challenged.\u201d
\nMinister of State for Health and Social Welfare Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako in his remarks, commended the First Lady for her generosity and support in the health sector.
\n“We sincerely appreciate Her Excelency for this demonstration of love, and for a mother who truly cares, a mother who understands the full responsibility of motherhood, she never jokes with the health of her children\u201d.
\n“These mobile clinics that are being commissioned today is a further demonstration of love that the first Lady has for an average Nigerian\u201d.
\n“For us in the health sector, we would continue to celebrate you, and appreciate the high attention that the sector is receiving under RHI,”.
\nDirector-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Oluseye Nafiu, described the two mobile clinics, as a \u201cstrategic boost\u201d to reach underserved Nigerians.
\n\u201cIf it\u2019s true that Her Excellency made such a promise, there would be no need to remind her because she would deliver them even more, knowing her for who she is, a kind, caring, benevolent, and charitable lover of youth, children, and individuals,\u201d.
\n\u201cHealth is not a privilege. It is a right. And the Renewed Hope Initiative is committed to make this a reality for every Nigeria ensuring all individuals have access to a full range of quality health services they need, whenever they need them, without facing financial hardship.\u201d
\n\u201cOur core medical personnel have provided three primary health care services to over 4 million Nigerians. That\u2019s about 360,000 beneficiaries annually on the average,\u201d \u201cSpecifically last year, we deployed our 6,344 medical personnel, including 2,319 doctors, to increase access to free healthcare in remote areas.\u201d
\nThe three Mobile Clinics were then officially handed over to the beneficiaries by the First Lady and RHI National Chairman, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.<\/p>\n
