The General overseer of the redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye and the vice president of the federal republic of Nigeria , Pastor Yemi Osibajo have been warned not to drag the name of the church into disrepute due to the duo’s involvement in partisan politics,stressing that attempt by the duo to dabble into politics of Apapa will not only be unproductive but will lead to exposing the huge amount being ferried to the church by the outgoing chairman of the local government,Hon Elijah Owolabi Adele.
This warning was handed down on Saturday by the Apapa Liberation Team (ALT) in a press release signed by its Publicity Director, Comrade Lanre Owosheni, staying that the desperation of Adele and the connivance of some elders of the redeemed church is disturbing, and that such will lead the “church into disrepute” .
The ALT spokesperson declared that information has it that the embattled Adele has been running from pillar to post to arm twist the leadership of the party change their stand on the primary election in Apapa, warning that a desperate person like Adele has no business in governance as he is out to run out our amiable State party chairman out of town as he has seen sponsoring several articles against him both online and on conventional media platforms.
According to Comrade Owosheni ” we want to use this opportunity to urge the highly respected Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye to desist from interfering in the local politics of Apapa, so as not to create religious crisis in the local government as his alleged interference by mounting unnecessary pressure on the leadership of the party in the state to return the party ticket back to a desperate member of his church is uncalled for and an attempt to heat up the polity. For the sake of religious tolerance, we will appeal to our highly respected father to allow politicians do their business while he remains father to all. Any attempt to get involved in the local politics of Apapa will be counter productive and will ultimately drag his name and that of his church in disrepute as Adele has been boasting of having his ears as he regularly donate five millions naira (#5 million) monthly to the church.”
Furthermore,” the vice president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Pastor Yemi Osibajo shouldn’t dabble into Apapa politics on the alter of religious correctness. It’s important to maintain that politics is local, thus , those playing politics should be ready to abide by their local prejudices. Mr Vice president should not dabble into our local politics here because of an arrogant, highly temperamental and garrulous church member who has been dropping his name and that of pastor Adeboye around. We have it on good authority that he has been boasting all over that he has given the VP substantial amount to have the ticket of the party returned to him. But we want to advise the legal luminary to stay away from the politics of Apapa to avoid being dragged in the mud. ”
Continuing” how can a man who has vowed to rubbish our state party chairman by all means at all cost be supported by the vice president? It’s on record that many media attacks have been launched by Adele against our national leader and more especially against our party chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, whom Adele has promised to retire politically nonce he gets his second term ticket. Or how can a sitting vice president be supporting a man so desperate for a second term that has entered into agreement with Accord party to fly it’s party ticket once he fails to get our party ticket returned to him. ” Comrade Owosheni said.
Conclusively, the publicity secretary of ALT warned of die consequences if the wish of the leaders of Apapa be toyed with on the basis of religion and that the duo of Pastors Adeboye and Osibajo should review their affiliation with the desperate and disrespectful Adele and allow the informed choice of the party leaders stay.
