Ex-Sole Administrator of Agege Local Government, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, Hon. Gbenga Abiola has lost his father.
The youngest council boss lost his father on the 10th of January, 2021 after a brief illness.
The 74-year Chief Olufemi Abiola was an educationist who gave his best in serving Lagos State at different capacities before his death.
The late Chief Abiola at different times of his career was a distinguished educator at Lagos City College, Yaba, the Principal of St. Patrick’s Grammar School (Epe), Iganmu High School, and Eric Moore Senior Secondary School. He retired as Director of Education under the Lagos State Ministry of Education.
Olufemi Abiola was a devoted Christian, a Philanthropist, an Educationist and a Disciplinarian who never gave in to mediocrity and indiscipline.
According to one of his sons, Gbenga Abiola, “we will surely miss our dad for his uprightness and the culture of standing for what is ethically good. He had always warned us to shun shortcut to success. All we have achieved today, it is through God and his mentorship. We will miss him, dearly.”
Chief Olufemi Abiola is survived by his wife (Chief Mrs Abiola-Gamba), his three children (Toyin, Funke and Gbenga Abiola) and many grandchildren.
