The Lagos State commissioner for housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai has commended the candidate of the All progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede for his conduct “especially, his reconciliatory moves since his emergence”
Hon. MAF as the commissioner for housing is popularly known, made the statement on Wednesday at Buhari house in Oshodi ,Lagos when he paid a courtesy visit to the chairmanship candidate, his vice chairman and all the seven councillors in the local government.
According to him” let me commend the chairmanship candidate for his reconciliatory moves so far. He started on a very strong footing by reconciling those aggrieved people before and during the primary election. There is need for collaboration between all the parties and I can see Mr Chairman has commenced that ”
He also disclosed that winning an election is purely a collaborative effort and should be embraced in the coming election and that not just winning but ” we must win convincingly”
In his words”this election should be won convincingly. Efforts should be made to win the election by all the parties, that can only be possible with dedication and commitment. It’s about our dedication, we can jointly win this election if we are diligent and committed to winning the election. ”
He equally advised the chairmanship candidate to ensure the people are the focus of his administration and ensure he satisfies the people at all times to have self satisfaction. He appealed that the needs of the people must be ascertained at all times to ameliorate their suffering and impact on them positively. And that best strategies to win election is having the confidence of the people.
“In winning election, we must prioritize the needs of our people are all times and the best strategies to win election in our own clime is having the confidence of our people. We will do everything to win election , not attempt to struggle to win, he said..
He advised that those who work must be compensated adequately and that the people must be happy at all times with the government, that’s when another term will be guaranteed, stressing that the election will be used as test run for the general elections in 2023,thus the need to win now with wide margins to send signal to other parties. .
While rounding up his speech, the Hon. Commissioner advised the councillors to ensure they cooperate with their chairman as that will be the only guarantee of development in their tenure and that they shouldn’t blackmail the chairman by pushing their ineptitude as his.
In his opening remarks, the chairmanship candidate, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede appreciated the commissioner as leader of the party for coming to interact with them, when he ought to have summoned them to his office.
He assured the commissioner that he won’t betray the confidence of the people , especially by the leaders, stressing that he will adhere strictly to the advise he has been given when he gets to office.
In attendance at the meeting are Director General , Secretary and members of the independent campaign Group, all councillors, women leaders and prominent politicians in the local government.
