As the local government and ward elections hold tomorrow, Saturday, July 24, across Lagos State, the Lawmaker representing Alimosho Constituency II in the Lagos ninth (9th) House of Assembly, Hon Kehinde Joseph, has charged electorates to shun violence as well as maintain peace and order, before, during and after the election exercises.
He made the call today through his media office, appealing to the electorates in the Alimosho area and across other LGAs/LCDAs of the State to commit to peace and ensure that the contest does not degenerate into violence and bloodbath.
“The election should not be a do or die affair for anyone, especially if the intention is genuinely to serve the people. We must do everything possible to avoid violence and bloodshed.
“We must continue to ensure that peace continue to reign I. Lagos State so that we can continue to enjoy and take advantage of the numerous achievements of our amiable Governor, Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, and that of our representatives at the grassroots.”, Joseph said.
He noted that the party’s representatives at the local government levels remain the most effective channel to reach and touch the lives of the people at the grassroots, urging the electorate to troop out to exercise their civic rights at the polling centres by casting their votes for the candidates of All Progressives Congress across the wards and LGAs/LCDAs of the State.
He thanked the people for their continued support and assured that the APC led administration both at the State and Local level would not relent in ensuring that dividends of democracy are extended to all the nooks and crannies of the State.
