The Eze Ndigbo of Lagos State, HRH Eze Dr Christian uchechukwu nwachukwu of Ndigbo in Lagos, a member inter- tribal traditional leaders of Nigeria (I T L N) and ‘Eze Ndigbo no nu uzo ije’ (Nigeria in diaspora) of which he is the national treasurer. He is a peace lover that believes in inter – tribal harmony.
In this engagement with BethTv, he narrated his contributions in the pursuance of harmonious relationship between different tribes in lagos State and beyond, and also to dispel a sponsored misinformation against his person as regard a trending video which portrayed him kneeling before Emir of Kano.
HRH Eze is a man of honour and integrity with a strong network within and outside Nigeria. He knows the importance, and place such on traditional institutions across tribes, as such, that is not to say, he will trade or exchange his revered title to satisfy any individual or group of people who are pursuing a selfish agenda.
When asked about the said trending video to put his name into disrepute, this is what the philanthropic Eze Ndigbo had to say” I have been saying this for upteemth times, there are some insane characters within us who are hell bent in faulting anything I do or twist it to achieve a planned selfish agenda.
“One of such cases was my recent visit to the north ( Kano state) but before that journey , I was in kaduna for an election that I was elected the treasurer of all the Eze Ndigbo home and abroad, ‘Eze Ndigbo no nu uzo ije’ (Eze ‘s in diaspora)in kaduna.”
“We formed an association named Inter- tribal traditional leaders of Nigeria (I T L N) in which His Excellency the Kano State Governor was the sponsor while the Emir of Kano was the Royal father of the day and patron, the sultan of sokoto was the chairman of the occasion where leaders to represent each state of the federation were appointed.”
“On the inauguration day, a laid down rule was agreed upon to honor the Emir of Kano, since we were in his domain and all traditional leaders present should honored him with greetings as the host, traditional leaders were taking turns to do this, and It got to my turn to honor him, the Emir spoke Igbo language to me and this got me astonished, that sounded great to me and I used the opportunity to have a tete -a- tete discussion with him on some pending discussions and for an appointment with Sultan of Sokoto, it is logical to bend and discussed with him not because of his status or any hidden reason but it is logical and natural because he was sitting down as I was standing. We had a great discussion, and it was fruitful.”
“Before saying Jack robinson, social media was agog that I prostrated to greet him. Some even went as far as saying I am an hungry Eze’ Ndigbo, a beggar, and all sort of names were and are still throwing at me that I wanted to trade Ndigbo’s interest… what a cruel interpretation! ”
“Unknowingly to these mischief makers, with my brief intereaction with the Emir, we discussed Nnamdi Kanu’s ordeal amongst several issues.”
“The blackmailers and the mischief makers are few in number in lagos’ Ndigbo body who are not happy with the progress we are making to unite every tribe irrespective of our differences. They went as far as paying social media influencers to blackmail me and portray me as an enemy of Ndigbo.”
“The aim is solely to degrade me and put me into disrespute in the estimation of the public.”
“Investigation also reveled that, the video in circulation has been tampered with which was different from what actually transpired at the event.”
“Extending Ndigbo frontiers beyond the Niger should not be seen as anti Ndigbo agenda, as Sultan of Sokoto is not a hater of any tribe but a lover of all Nigerians.”
“Those using technological tools to manipulate the actual content (video ) of the event will soon have their cup full in same coin.”
“I would not be dettered in doing or attracting good things that would be of benefit to my people.”
