In an attempt to return sanity to the continuous traffic gridlock on Brown Street, the traffic section of Oshodi-Isolo local government on Monday embarked on traffic control and enlightenment of troubled spots on Brown street, Owosheni junction, Boladale Street, Igbehinadun street and others.
The traffic team urged all transporters and commuters to ensure compliance with the laid down traffic rules and regulations noting that the new directive of one-lane parking is aimed at bringing sanity to our roads.
The team led by the Special Adviser to the chairman of the local government on Transport, Hon Rilwan Animashaun and the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on transportation, Comrade Olatoye Aremu, visited the Iyaloja of Brown street, where they intimated her and by extension the market leaders of the need for maintenance of free flow of traffic on the road.
The Team equally met with leadership of the Enforcement unit of the motorcyclists (Okada) Association and members of the National Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW) where it was revealed that the free flow of traffic across the local government is critical and must be allowed always.
In his remarks after the tour, Hon. Animashaun disclosed that the tour of the formations was to inform those concerned of the determination of the new administration to restore sanity on the roads.
They disclosed that they will ensure compliance with the one-lane directive on the affected roads that are traffic prone with the aim of easing the traffic logjam.
He also disclosed that the council chairman will not leave any stone unturned in returning sanity to the areas.
