… Receives 9 Brigade Garrison Commander’s Compliment Plaque

Nigeria’s touch of uniqueness in diversity came fully on display on Saturday the 8th of January, 2022, when the 9 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, marked the 2021 west Africa social activities (WASA) event, in the Nigerian Army cantonment, Ikeja, to reinforce the spirit of espirit-de-corps in the military institution through a spectacle of social events.
The event, in the words of the chief host and garrison commander 9 Brigade, Lt. Col. T.J. Abdallah, is an age long tradition of the Nigerian Army, during which, officers, soldiers, their families and invited guests socialize and are treated to diverse cultural and quasi-military routines, geared towards fine-tuning comeradeship and civil-military relations; it is also to draw curtain on the outgoing year and usher in the new training year, the chief host has said.
The garrison commander had, while, delivering his welcome address, commended the Lagos state governor, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, who was the special guest of honour, for the towering support his government continues to give to security agencies deployed to the state, especially the OP MESA, assuring the governor that, they will continue to discharge their constitutional duties in the state, with the utmost commitment and professionalism.
The special guest of honor, governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, who was present, had in his keynote address, appreciated God first and went ahead to commend and appreciate the Nigerian army for their sacrifices in the fight to negate and dwarf insurgency in the country; he further acknowledged the military’s efforts in the security of lives and property in Lagos state and assured of his continued support to them.
The governor went further to declare his government’s readiness to initiate an empowerment program for deserving women and wives in the military barracks across Lagos state; what the citizens of the state outside the barracks enjoy, will also be replicated within the confines of the barracks, from now on, the governor said.
HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, the Sarki overall and chairman of the assembly of Serikis under the aegis of the chieftaincy council of Arewa community, Alimosho local government, Lagos state, who was amongst invited guests, received in honour, the prestigious plaque of compliment of the garrison commander, presented to him by the chief host and the 9 Brigade garrison commander, Lt. Col. T.J Abdallah, who expressed appreciation for the royal honor of presence.
