The women wing of APC professionals council , has kick-started a training and empowerment programme for unemployed youths and women in the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State.
The Coordinator of the women wing , *Rt. Hon. Bola Badmus -Olujobi* , disclosed the development at a Press Conference organized to formally notify the public about the initiative, which started three days ago across the state , stating that it is part of the council’s drive to engage the youths and address unemployment in Lagos. Block making and cake baking are some of the skills the 3000 participants are set to attain at the Empowerment session.
Olujobi noted that the move is part of the numerous initiatives in the pipeline by the organisation to engage youths, curb restlessness and other social vices, especially at the community level, stressing that the initiative will unearth hidden talents and also nurture and develop the potentials of the youth population.
The successful trainees will be empowered at the maiden summit of the council on Thursday 15th of September, 2022 , at NUT Pavilion , Alahusa Ikeja . Dr. Ibijoke Sanwoolu, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat, Barr Kolade Alabi, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, Mrs. Falilat Obasa, Mrs Jumoke Okoya Thomas and Ambassador Seyi Bamigbade( Director and Lagos State coordinator) are some of the special guests to grace the event The theme of the day is ” WOMEN CRITICAL CATALYST FOR DEVELOPMENT” .
