Following the inauguration of the south west wing of apex northern umbrella body, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), on the 10th of September, 2022, at the cultural centre Abeokuta, Ogun state, it is now clear that, the new wing is set to fully bring to bear, the motto of the premium forum as enshrined in its constitution.
A delegation of the Lagos state chapter, led by its chairman Yahaya Abubakar muhammad and those of the recently inaugurated southwest wing, had on Sunday, October 30, 2022, visited the Ogun state chapter on a familiarization tour during which salient issues bothering on peace and unity, unwavering commitment to progress and development as spelt out in the constitution of the forum were largely discussed.
The Ogun state chairman, who was inaugurated as the pioneer chairman of the southwest wing on September 10, 2022, Alhaji Tanko Abdullahi, delivered the keynote address at the meeting which held at the kasuwar Goro, secretariat of the Ogun state chapter, during which he generously commended the chapter for its doggedness through the last seven years, calling on the entire membership of the ACF across the region to emulate and improve on the Ogun state example; the chairman had revealed that, the familiarization schedule is prepared to traverse the length and breadth of the southwestern states in conclusion of his address.
Other executives including Lagos state chairman, Yahaya Abubakar muhammad, comrade Salisu Sani Danmuttaqa, Gambo Ibrahim Muhammad, Ibrahim Abubakar Jagaba, who are the deputy southwest chairman, southwest secretary and the southwest publicity secretary in that order, a representative of the Ogun state BOT and HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, the Sarki overall of Alimosho in Lagos state, all gave their remarks, while, the meeting lasted; they generally expressed their readiness to reinforce peace and unity in line with the yearnings of the apex body.
It will be recalled that, the governor of the state of Ogun Prince Dapo Abiodun and numerous other regional stakeholders including the special assistant to the governor on inter-ethnic affairs, Prince Hadi Sani and leader of the Ogun state BOT of the forum, Alhaji Basi Muhammad, were in attendance during the inauguration of the southwest wing of the Arewa Consultative Forum; high point of the occasion was the presentation of Peace Ambassadorial award to the Ogun state governor by the ACF, through the national administrative secretary of the forum, Alhaji Munir Mustafa, who represented the national chairman, chief Audu Ogbeh; citing the governor’s towering investments on peace building across the state, which has tremendously enhanced inter-tribal harmony as yardstick for rewarding the governor with the covetous peace plaque.
Indications appear strong, the recently inaugurated southwest wing of the ACF is set to reinforce and improve on the gains of the parent body in no distant time
