As one of the numerous measures prepared to enhance and ensure citizens full fledged participation in the nurture and sustenance of peace and security across Lagos state, the commissioner of police Lagos state, CP Idowu Owohunwa, on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, convened a meeting of stakeholders, including clergies, traditional heads, legal practitioners, entertainment experts and a host of other opinion moulders and influencers during which the police chief stressed the need for a re-invigorated police and stakeholders collaboration with the primary intent to shield the state from avoidable unrest and security breach especially as we journey through the 2023 general elections, set to terminate after the governorship and state assembly elections slated for March 11, 2023.
A representation of the assembly of Serikis under the aegis of the chieftaincy council of Arewa community Alimosho local government, led by the chairman and Sarki overall of Alimosho, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, attended the meeting held at the POWA hall of the Lagos state police command, G.R.A, Ikeja; members of the assembly of Serikis Alimosho, who joined their chairman to the peace and security parley, include, Mallam Sama’ila Garba, the Sarki of Iyana Ipaja Land, Mallam Almu DanMallam II, the Sarki of Isheri Olofin kingdom, Mallam Bello Musa, the Sarki of Idimu Land, Mallam Muhammad Abubakar Sadiq, the Sarki of Oke Abiye and Alhaji Muhammad Sani Bulama, the wamban yamma and elder statesman of the Alimosho chieftaincy council of Arewa community.
Eminent personalities including expert jurists, Femi Falana (SAN), Barr. Monday Ubani, human rights Amazon, Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin, amongst others, also attended the all important meet, where CP Idowu Owohunwa, assured Lagosians of the command’s readiness to always protect lives and property in the state just as he sternly warned criminal minded persons to desist or meet their waterloo in no distant time.
The Sarki overall of Alimosho and chairman of the chieftaincy council of Arewa community Alimosho local government has assured to escalate the message from the meeting to all reachable nooks and crannies of Alimosho, where the Arewa communities are resident; this he said will be done through the over eighteen Seriki membership of the council as usual.
