Lagos state commissioner of police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has commended the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), unit of the command, describing the squad as the pride and mainstay of stable security the entire command has been able to emplace.
The police helmsman, made the assertion today, during his official working visit to the RRS headquarters at Alausa secretariat, Ikeja Lagos, where he further noted that, consequent upon the towering successes of the squad in crime bursting across the state, Rapid Response Squad, has now become a super model worthy of emulation by sister formations; adding that, other states of the federation will do well to learn and uphold the RRS style of professionalism, precision and effectiveness in crime fighting.
Displaying quality leadership prowess, while, addressing an assemblage of the squad’s personnel in Alausa, CP Owohunwa, noted that, his visit was premised on the need to appreciate and commend the agency’s personnel for the yeoman’s job that has ensured the state of Lagos was commendably safe for the citizenry.
Continuing his address, the Lagos police security head, heaped special praises on the commander of the squad, CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, who he adjudged as an exceptionally brilliant steward, which he said, reflects in the remarkable manner he has continued to marshal the squad to towering heights.
CP Owohunwa also, commended the Lagos state government for its unrivalled investments in security, which he noted has translated into making the state the reference point in safety and security across the nation.
Concluding, CP Idowu Owohunwa, assured the squad of the command’s total support just as he read a riot act to cultists and recalcitrant Okada riders across Lagos state, to choose between outright denounciation and lawful compliance or get ready to dance to the music accordingly, maintaining that, no iota of any breach of peace or laws of the land will be condoned under any guise; he further charged the RRS personnel to double their efforts, adding that, hardwork, no doubt, begets success, thus, they should not rest on their oars.
Welcoming the commissioner of police earlier, commander of the squad, CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, expressed RRS’s appreciation for the all important visit and assured of unwavering readiness to improve on their performance in line with the CP’s all-round security blueprint, going forward.
