We read with dismay and hogwashly put together a few lines of lies envisaging or imagining a crisis where one does not exist, all in the name of tarnishing the image or put to disrepute the royal house of Egbada Land.
The innuendos which was widely circulated through social media – WhatsApp groups -and -a handful of blogs by agents of distruction.
It is worrisome why the self acclaimed ‘Olori Odo’ of Egbeda land whose certificate, he is parading reads ‘Youth leader’ is laying claim to ‘Asiwaju Odo’ or ‘Olori Odo’. A Primary School pupil can tell what the difference between these titles are; firstly, and for clarification, if we say or agree to the fact that, ‘Olori Odo’ and ‘Asiwaju Odo’ could interchangeably be used traditionally, what would fail traditional acceptance or test is ‘Youth leader’ be used in same category.
When such is appearing on a certificate acclaimed to have been issued from a traditional institution, it thus a laughable chieftaincy title as Wahab Ogunji has claimed to have received certificate as ‘Olori Odo’ of Egbeda land from the late Oba Shamsideen Elegbeda.
Lo and behold, it is on record that the late Oba had it in mind to honor Ogunji with Olori Odo (traditiona title) but his past records became an issue to the late Oba till he joined his ancestors, but in his usual characteristics, Ogunji was never installed, for who he is, he connived with a close confidant of the late Oba and a certificate was issued which carries ‘Youth leader’. When has our traditional institutions started installing worthy sons and daughters of their Kingdoms with English related titles?
In his opprobrious and short write up, which is intended to blackmail the newly installed Elegbeda, HRM Oba Hammed Orelope Laka1, Ogunji stated, Oba of Elegbeda is planning to install new ‘Olori Odo’ and other Chiefs but the question is where did he get this lie from? And when has installing Chiefs needs approval of an individual?
Was he actually installed as ‘Olori Odo’ in the first place? the answer is No, as the record in the public domain carries ‘Youth leader’.
Ogunji married to a younger sister to Oba Laka, yet, that means nothing to him as journey to the path of peace is unattractive to him.
As a youth group from Egbeda kingdom, we would not sit back and allow an impostor to put into disrepute the revered traditional stool of Egbeda kingdom.
Ogunji has decided to take a legal action against Oba Laka 1 if his royal majesty chooses to install new ‘Olori Odo’ or ‘Asiwaju Odo’ which the kingdom is in dire need.
We implore Mr. Wahab Ogunji to allow the new Oba settled down on his throne, so as to face the task of ruling the kingdom other than this diversionary antics.
It would not be out of place to say Wahab Ogunji was amongst those who have been acting as a delay to the emergence of Oba Laka1 all the while.
We are urging the Kabiesi not to give attention to elements like this, which their stocks in trade is blackmail to exist.
Long live Oba Laka 1 !
Long Live Egbade Land !!
Long live Alimosho !!!
