As the Chairmanship Elections in Lagos state in Agege Local Government draws near, an aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Sola Osolana has planned to tackle the rising stem of youth unemployment in Agege community with the hope of fostering on entrepreneurship skills.
The chairmanship aspirant disclosed that he has ‘3Ms programmes for youths in the community.
The 3Ms connote Money, Materials and Mentorship.
“I have what is called 3Ms for grassroots youths, which means Money, Materials and Mentorship.
“First, we will get the youth statistics where we have the educated, semi-educated, and the one that wants to venture in trading.
“Some of them just need money to establish and augment the capital of their businesses, some need materials and equipment for their trade and some really need mentorship,” Osolana said.
He said that many youths would be mentored on how to write resume and how to share Curriculum Vitae through the youth centres.
In addition, the Mentorship Programme will assist many owners of SMEs and MEMs in Agege.
“For those who do not know how to write or where to send their Curriculum Vitae (CV) to, there will be mentorship for such an opportunity.
“Guinness Plc. is using part of Agege Local Government residence, it should be able to employ some of our youths.
“It’s an advantage to employ our youths and dittos to all private businesses in Agege; we will work hand in hand to make sure that Agege youths are engaged.
“Even, if you want to be a bouncer or security operative, talents does not limit to dancing, singing, literary and debating; some can be good in security.
“We will train them, and also employ some of our trained street boys to ensure that Agege Street is safe for all,” he said.
Hon. Sola Osolana later urged all Agege APC supporters and residents to support his Programme for a greater Agege where everyone will be to live.
