As the destructive and violence imbued Hunger Protest is terminated abruptly as a result of the resistance of the people, the Patriotism Awareness Forum (PAF) has lauded Nigerians for massively shunning the protest which aimed at cashing in on the economic challenges resulting from the comprehensive economic reforms of the Tinubu administration to unleash mayhem and wanton destruction of lives and properties for the purpose of destabilizing Nigeria and overthrowing the present democratic order.
The group stated that by boycotting the so-called deceitful protest of insurrection and anarchy, Nigerians have served notice to the architect of our present economic crisis who are resisting every genuine effort to tackle it, and yet seek to benefit from the after effects of the reforms, that Nigerians are wiser and not unaware of those responsible for our present situation. It stated that, by shunning the evil attempt to bait them into wholesome destruction of the country via the so-,called hunger protest of insurrection and anarchy, Nigerians have shown that they are on the same page with the Tinubu administration, to find enduring solutions to the economic woes of the country that have endured for decades.
In a release in Lagos, PAF said that the refusal of Nigerians to play into the hands of the manipulators and wicked political chance-takers, by condemning and boycotting the violent and destructive protests they intended to launch on the country, shows that Nigerians are not unaware that the root cause of the economic woes we are witnessing today, was planted years ago by the same people and interests that attempted to politically exploit the conditions of Nigerians for political capital. It urged the governments at all levels to reciprocate the goodwill Nigerians exhibited during the course of the failed and unpopular protest to redouble efforts to give succor to Nigerians by frontally addressing food inflation.
“The failure of the shadowy organizers of the protest to rouse Nigerians to embark on wholesome destruction of lives and properties across the length and breadth of the country, which was their original intent, showed that Nigerians know where the rain started beating them and don’t believe that the one- year old Tinubu administration, which has been working very hard to find solutions to our economic problems, is the architect of our economic woes. We salute Nigerians for serving strong notice to the faceless organizers of the infamous failed protest that we are wise enough to know when some selfish political chance-takers want to take advantage of us
“Though we noticed that some desperate politicians who desire power by every foul means, infiltrated some states where they distributed insidious and subversive materials to lure poor victims of their past acts in governance to vent anger and destruction on the streets, in the name of hunger protest, we note that they succeeded in only a very few states as majority of Nigerians refused to be so used. While we condemn this treasonable acts, we insist the government and security agencies must go after these evil desperados and bring them to justice.
“As we keep saluting Nigerians for shunning the instigators and sponsors of the nefarious failed protests, we laud and salute the Tinubu administration for its timely, apt response to the protests and its actions to re-assure Nigerians of its commitment to finding lasting solutions to the economic crisis in Nigeria. PAF salutes the commitment and dexterity of the Tinubu administration to pull Nigeria out of the woods and reposition the economy for sustainable greatness.
“We again call on the governments at all levels to reciprocate the trust and understanding Nigerians exhibited during the failed protest by redoubling efforts to tame the galloping inflation. The food inflation which we are all grappling with, was the ready made weapon which the enemies of the people tried to use to induce them as a tool of destruction in the failed hunger protests, we are not in doubt that finding practical solutions to food inflation will go a long way to simmer tension in the short term while we expect most especially the states governments, to approach the issue of food production with every seriousness they can muster so as to find an enduring solution to the present food crisis that is brewing discontent among Nigerians”.
PAF wholeheartedly commend the security agencies for their professionalism and diligence in neutralizing the threat to national security and unity ignited during the protest of insurrection and anarchy by the agents of destabilization and anarchy.
