In what appears to be a determined drive to address issues of public nuisance caused by the irresponsible actions of individuals and private entities on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, men of the Lagos State Taskforce have seized registration number plates of 68 vehicles indiscriminately parked, blocking other road users and causing serious traffic congestion and public harm.
The enforcement took place in the early hours of Saturday, August 24, 2024 and it was in response to repeated complaints and a Save Our Soul (SOS) alarm from residents and concerned users of the public road.
Leading the enforcement exercise, chairman of the agency, CSP Akerele Adetayo, expressed outright disapproval of the public nuisance occasioned by illegal parking and obstruction of free flowing traffic by persons visiting private entities along the Akin Adesola road for their self serving activities.
CSP Akerele, warned that, the agency will not tolerate any shape of traffic and environmental rules abuses anywhere in the state, adding that, the taskforce is empowered by law to enforce environmental and transport sector laws in Lagos State, thus, no stone will be left unturned under his watch.
Concluding he said, all vehicles affected will be made to face applicable penalties as provided by relevant laws in Lagos State
