A coordinated midnight raid operation by operatives of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit popularly known as Taskforce has led to the arrest of 94 criminal suspects.
The sting operation as gathered by this medium, was led by the Chairman of the agency CSP Akerele Adetayo and it took place between midnight and early hours of Wednesday, 13th November, 2024.
It was further gathered that, the exercise followed the receipt of credible reports from concerned citizens on the nafarious activities of criminal elements and the consequential public nuisance and menace around the general area.
A locally fabricated short gun, other incriminating items including a jack knife, charms and several wraps of a weed suspected to be Indian hemp, were also recovered in the course of the operation.
Our findings have shown that, this is the second time the current Taskforce chairman is leading his men on a major onslaught against criminal elements along the Pen-Cinema-Fagba railway corridor, after his appointment to lead the agency by governor Babajide Sanwo-olu in June, 2024.
There’s no gain in saying that, the operation will go a long way in generally reinforcing safety and security of Lagosians relying on the tempo and timely succession of enforcement introduced by CSP Akerele, the current Taskforce helmsman
