Thecommissioner of police, CP Edgal Imohimi has launched manhunt for 16 individuals who are accused of homosexual activities and abuse of banned – hard drugs substances.
It will be recalled that, on August 26th, 2019 in the Alimosho area of lagos, the Police who acted under intelligence report of a Gay/Homosexual Club between 1 a.m and 2 a.m. at Holand hotel (Kelly Ann) & event centre, located at No. 3-7, Adenrele street,Egbeda, an action contrary to Section 1 (1) of Same Sex Marriage, Act 2014.
About 80 young men were alleged to have gathered for gay Initiation ceremony but which 57 of them were arrested and charged to court, but others escaped and evade arrest.
According to the police boss “They can only run and hide for a short period of time, I can assure the general public that, we will arrest them and prosecute them accordingly. Homosexuality is prohibited in our constitution , as such, anyone guilty of it shall be arrested and made to face the law.”
“As I speak, we have charged those we arrested to court and on the trail of those who evaded arrest. We have been able to locate their houses due to the attendance list of the attendees. I can tell you confidently that, we have been in contact with some of their families. We will fish them out at wherever they hiding.”

“I urge the general public to help the police by given any useful information to there whereabouts,”.
The immediate past administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan through the National assembly prohibited homosexuality in Nigeria with 14 – year jail term as punishment.
This law however has been condemned by international communities and human rights groups for depriving others of their sexual orientations and association.
As at the time of filling in this report, eight other suspects were said to be arrested by the Nigerian Police from their various hideouts but which this medium is yet to acertian the veracity of the claim.
