As Christians in Nigeria join the rest of the world to celebrate Christmas which is the birth of Jesus Christ, the member Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture, Hon Kehinde Joseph representing Alimosho Constituency (II) has urged Christians to observed peaceful coexistence, calmness and low-key celebration.
Kehinde Joseph, in his Christmas goodwill message said “the period of Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ who is the symbol of Christianity and the harbinger of peace, love and good tidings and there is no better way to celebrate the season than by showing love and being our brother’s keeper.”
He charged all Christians to ensure that all the positives of Christmas did not end with the festive period but that everyone must consciously act to keep the generousity, bonding, restraint, love and the happiness that made Christmas a special season into the people’s daily lives so that every day of their lives after Christmas would be a special day.
“This is very much possible because it does not happen by accident and because we make Christmas happen by giving, by loving and by sharing and smiling. If we do it every day, you can just imagine what the world would be like if every day was Christmas.”
The Lawmaker urged constituents of Alimosho Constituency (II) to co-exist as Christmas and New Year celebration approaches, stressing that it is only through peaceful coexistence that the constituency would achieve sustainable developments.
“I urge you to continue in this vein, for it is only by living in peaceful and harmonious co-existence, by respecting each other’s right to live freely and peacefully and by being our brothers’ keeper that we are truly celebrating the essence of Christmas.”
” We need to be properly moderate in our celebration and observe the precautionary guidelines and protocols towards defeating the deadly virus.”
“As we celebrate Christmas, it is my earnest prayer that we experience true love and draw renewed strength from the certainty that within our hearts and around us dwells the likeness of the son of God, Jesus, because He’s the reason for the season and the epitome of true love.”
“With lots of love, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year” he stressed.
