Leading chairmanship aspirant for the exalted seat of Chairman of Oshodi Isolo Local Government ,Otunba Kehinde Adeola Almaroof Oloyede on Friday joined dignitaries across the state to celebrate the formal installation of the Iyaloja General of Oshodi Alhaja Sikirat Ejide Adeyanju.
The business mogul turned politician expressed his joy that the process that led to the emergence of the new iyaloja was a peaceful one and embraced by all the marketers.
Speaking with journalists, Otunba Oloyede stated that market men and women play significant roles in the development of their communities and that any government be it at the state or local level that fails to accord them their rightful place will fail.
He commended the Iyaloja General of Lagos, Chief Mrs Folashade Tinubu Ojo for the choice of the new Iyaloja General in Oshodi, stressing that when elected as the council boss, his assuring them of adequate safety of lives and property and he will work in harmony with the market leaders as he was born and raised by a market leader.
According to him, “I have come to celebrate our new iyaloja in Oshodi, the market leaders are essential people in any administration, so we will work with them when we get to the helms of affairs in the local government. Don’t forget my mother was once an iyaloja general and she raised me, so I am at home with my mothers, sisters and brothers.”
Continuing “let me use this medium to commend the iyaloja General of Nigeria, Chief Mrs Folashade Tinubu Ojo for her choice of our new iyaloja, who is a round peg in a round hole. It’s very heart warming that the process of the choice of the new iyaloja was devoid of rancour and violence, which is a confirmation of her acceptability by the market men and women.”
He however used the opportunity to also wish the new iyaloja General a peaceful tenure, promising to always carry them along when elected as chairman of the local government.
