Report making the rounds said Mrs Bello through her foundation, RAISE Foundation, garnered a total sum of N100m from donors to dig a full solar-driven borehole in front of Limawa Model School in Minna, the state capital.
The First Lady is accused of using the borehole as a money making venture to the disappointment of the residents, according to The Nation saying its checks “showed it costs N2,700 for those with blue trucks to get water from the facility.”
The paper said the governor’s wife, spokesperson, Rabi Bello, pushed back at the claim in an interview she granted it and quoted her as saying, “It is Raise foundation project and it has nothing to do with the First Lady. The project is being done to raise fund for the organisation. It has nothing to do with the office of the First Lady.”
