The Lawmaker representing Alimosho Constituency II, also doubled as the Chairman House Committee on Agriculture, in the ninth (9th) Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Kehinde Olaide Joseph has Congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the country as they join other faithfuls across the globe to celebrate Eid-El-Kabir in commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and submission to Allah in his willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismaeel.

The Parliamentarian in a statement signed by his head of Media and Strategic Communication, Olayiwola Rasheed Jebba Hamilton, charged the Ummah to imbibe the teachings of Eid-el-Kabir and reflect on the great lessons of the festival of sacrifice which, he said, is a core tenet of the Islamic faith.

Kehinde Joseph, reiterated that the celebration should remind the Muslim Ummah and, indeed, all humanity of the need to observed peaceful coexistence, calmness and make personal sacrifices to enhance the common good and collective interests of the people.

He stressed the need for the Muslims to uphold the lessons of love, charity, brotherliness, generosity and trust in Allah to direct and guide them to the right path as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim’s submission to Allah’s command.

He noted that, although the dwindling economy of the nation is taking its toll on the people, it is nonetheless, rewarding to share and care for the less privileged and the vulnerable people in the society stressing that the festival calls for love towards humanity.

“The celebration encourages us to show kindness, love and help the needy as well as loyalty and obedience to constituted authorities. These are some of its unique tenets that should be reflected in our daily lives”, he added.

Following the confirmation of Delta Variant of COVID-19 in the country, six (6) States and the Federal Capital, Abuja have been placed on red alert, hence, the Lawmaker urged Ummah to emulate and demonstrate sense of self-restraint, and as well observe the precautionary guidelines towards defeating the deadly virus.

Kehinde Joseph, once again, congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebrations and reminded the Constituents of the need to be security conscious and continue to assist security agencies with credible intelligence that will bring an end to insecurity and other criminal tendencies in the state.
