The Lagos State judicial panel on restitution for victims of SARS related abuses and other matters sitting in Lagos today Friday 6th August 2021 adjourned to 20th August 2021 for adoption of final written address on two petitions.
In the first petition of the day of Mr. Julius Adeogun vs the Nigeria police force, the respondent called a witness who was cross examined by the petitioner counsel and at the end of the cross examination, the petitioner closed his case. The respondent also closed his case. Consequently, the panel adjourned to 20th of August 2021 for adoption of final written address by counsels.
Same fate befell the second petition of the day of the family of late Okoronkwo Stanley vs the Nigeria police force as the petitioner was unable to produce his last witness and subsequently closed his case just as the respondent also did which necessitated the panel to adjourn to 20th August 2021 for the adoption of final written address by counsels.
But the third petition of the day of Stanley Nathan Chimezie and others vs the Nigeria Army was adjourned for further hearing by the panel at the instance of the petitioner counsel who applied for a short adjournment to enable him produce some materials crucial to his case just as he led one of the petitioners in his evidence in chief.
