Effort has been put in place by the Hon Wale Adedayo led administration to resuscitate the information department of Ijebu East LG.
Meeting towards this development was held on Monday in the office of the council chairman Hon Wale Adedayo, with members of staff of information department of the council area alongside his Vice Hon Oyesanya Elizabeth Adetutu and his media assistance/editor of the Ijebu East Herald, Hon Gbosibo Femi.
The council chairman dropped the hints that creativity is very essential in all human endeavors, thus, he was of the opinion of digitalising the information department of the local government council and other departments as well.
“We can not continue to do things in old methods, we must be creative, innovative and as well adopt/subscribe to new technology. Gone are the days when files would be treated by conveying it from one table to another”, the council boss added.
Speaking further, the chairman charged the local government staff to be efficient, diligent and also subscribe to modern technology of information dissemination to the heterogeneous audience.
Wale Adedayo a renowned journalist, opined to develop an official website for Ijebu East LG, as well as create official facebook page, twitter account and other social media platforms for the local government authority which would also exist and be functioning after leaving office.
He also proposed a monthly incentive for the best staff of the month as a way of motivating members of staff of the local government area. According to him, the method which he adopted during his stint as the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Gov Gbenga Daniel while he also oversee the Ogun State ministry of information.
“A staff of the Ogun State ministry of information won the best staff of the ministry in five consecutive times going home with cash price when I was overseeing the ministry alongside my official duty as the CPS to Gov Gbenga Daniel”, Wale Adedayo concluded.
The staff acknowledged the innovation stride of the council chairman, especially the monthly motivation incentive for the best staff of the month which would henceforth motivate workers efficiency.
