Determined to empower and develop youths for better future through sports and skills acquisition, the Oshodi-Isolo local government chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede has promised a facelift for the popular Jalisco Stadium.
It would be recalled that the executive chairman had posted the prototype of the architectural design on his personal Facebook page with the caption: “My vision for a new and better Jalisco football pitch. It’s achievable if we put our hearts and minds to it. God willing.”
After the posting, the chairman, in company of council engineers visited the stadium on Monday for physical assessment and feasibility study.
While discussing with journalists on his plans for the mini stadium, the chairman averred that “promotion of youths and sport development is one of the cardinal areas we want to give maximum attention. Sport will not only keep our youths mentally alert but it’s also a sure way to success.”
He continued, “Oshodi is blessed with abundant talents both in sports and other areas. This very field has produced many of such talents in the past. Our administration is however poised to bring back the old sporting glory of Oshodi by reviving this stadium,” he concluded.
An athlete, Mr Emmanuel Akind, that was present during the stopover of the chairman expressed his gratitude and joy towards the facelift to be done to the stadium, noting that it will further encourage many athletes like him as well as encourages host of others towards discovering their talents. He prayed that God continue to strengthen the chairman.
