This Year’s World Teachers’ Day was celebrated around the globe to appreciate and acknowledge the impact and teachings they have bestowed on every individual in life. In order to justify the maxim that Education is a life legacy which every individual should have in order to make them happy in their life time.
The Alimosho wing of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) was not left behind on this occasion which comprises of various teachers in the Local Government Education Authority, (LGEA) under the Chairmanship of Comrade Olowoyo Isaac and the LGEA Education Secretary , Hon.Airat Mojirade Alamu and other notable teachers across the alimosho Federal Constituency. It was a colorful event as they all turned up in a uniform Ankara clothing material to rejoice and give credence to few members who are still much In service and those that are retiring soon.
Meanwhile, this year’s celebration is unprecedented as it witnessed as Special Guest of Honour, Hon Prince Idris Oluomo, a.k.a Oluomo Kafata, a House of representatives aspirants for the Alimosho federal constituency in the forthcoming 2023 General elections.
In his opening remarks, he eulogies the importance of teachers especially in nation building. To buttress his points few of his secondary school teachers were also in attendance which made him more elated and appreciated all their efforts on every student.
As part of his social responsibility projects especially on educational sector, he provided four (4) school buses for both the Alimosho Constituency 01 and 2 respectively which would be used to convey the students in the morning and after school hours to their destinations. In same vein, he promised ten thousand exercise books , 10, 000 school bags and 10,000 lunch bags for the students.
To cap it all, he also promised to provide a befitting bus for the NUT Alimosho chapter which was widely applauded by the union.
Oluomo Kafata as fondly called made it ambrose that if given the opportunity to serve, he would make it a priority to sponsor bills of benefit to teachers.
On this note, the LGEA Education Secretary, Hon, Airat Mojirade Alamu appreciated Oluomo’s gestures on his deliverables in Alimosho aimed at alleviating the problems among students and teachers while giving kudos for his benevolent and selfless services. she however advised the great philanthropist to write formally the Lagos State Giverment and SUBEB respectively on his proposed programees on educational support.
At the end of this, Oluomo presented a large plaque to the NUT body and he was also reciprocated with same for a recognition award towards his continuation to the educational sector in Alimosho.
