The Sarki overall and chairman of the assembly of Serikis under the aegis of the chieftaincy council of Arewa community Alimosho local government Lagos, HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, has, while, delivering his year 2022 projections, called on the generality of Nigerians to concentrate efforts on building the country together, maintaining that, the surest recipe to a virile and sustainable nation, remained, joint efforts.
Entertaining posers from a select media practitioners on security and socio economic challenges that fatigued the country in 2021 and his candid view on the way to go in 2022, the royal father, posited that, he believed strongly, in the mantra of change begins with me, insisting that, for things to change for anyone or any nation, the individual or nation has to also change.
Reminiscing his emergence and assumption of the leadership of the assembly of Serikis in the great Alimosho local government, he relayed how in less than five years of his stewardship, inter ethnic trust and peace has improved tremendously, ascribing it to the joint efforts of member Serikis and the commendable efforts and cooperation of the Alimosho local government chapter of the Lagos state council of Obas and Chiefs, who he affirmed have continued to demonstrate the spirit of oneness, through respective Baale’s and Obas across the local government.
Continuing, he said, it will amaze you how the host custodians of tradition continue to accommodate and integrate the northern community heads into their folds by way of always counting them worthy of inclusion in their activities, all geared towards, unity, peace and overall progress.
The Lagos state government deserve commendation for setting and leading the pace in demonstrating what a truly, united and prosperous society should look like in the manner the state is run; no wonder, unrivalled socio cultural and socio economic indices tick in favour of the state far ahead of others, thus, I seize this new year period to call on member states to borrow the Lagos model, where, diversity is been maximized for the good of all as against the reverse, the royal symbol, chorused.
I commend the support and sacrifices of all member Serikis for peace and use this medium to beseech the Arewa community Lagos state, to continue to live by the rules and to galvanize genuine support for the policies of government, especially in line with the Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES agenda and the greater Lagos vision.
