AlimoshoTV In an exclusive INTERVIEW with
Kaokab fondly called ‘KK’ on why he is contesting and his plans for the people of Alimosho federal constituency if elected.
Alimosho Tv: Tell us a little about yourself?
KK : I was born into the family of Olugboke kosebinu and Animasaun. Mother’s side is Animashaun while kosebinu is my dad’s mum side in Alimosho Local Government and also Olugboke ruling house in Idimu here as well. I attended community Primary School in Isheri, from there I proceeded to Anwar -ul- Islam college in Agege after which I had my first diploma in public administration at the Lagos State University (LASU) and later proceeded to University of Lagos where I studied creative Art, afterwards to Manchester University where I read Business Management and lastly, ended my education journey in London to study Public Administration. I have worked in both public and private sectors.
Alimosho TV: What Encouraged you to join politics?
KK: My Father was a politician and I was born as one either, during the days of the social Democratic Party (SDP), we used to be the posters boys – and – my father was a public person before he eventually became the chief Imam of Idimu central mosque and so what makes me to be part of this is, I like to support people, to help, and I also want to represent our people in doing the right thing.
I have been doing this for so long and my little bit in the party and outside the party we also have our charity organization that was amalgamated to take care of the need of the people but often times people doesn’t want it to be off the camera ,they always tell me it needs to be on camera for people to see – and – all but left to me I would have wanted it to remain that, way and not on camera because I believe that, the charity should be kept secret and for God and not for the people to see or for public accolades.
Alimosho TV: For how long have you been into politics?
KK: I have been following politics ( as a young boy) since the SDP era of Baba Foster ,Baba Adimula , Baba Ladiye ,Baba Jafojo also with Aunty Jumoke Orelope ,Mr Kehinde Joseph ,Mr Eni himself, Noah, so, in a nutshell, I’ve been around .
Alimosho TV: What can you do better compare to your Counterparts?
KK: I will do alot and I’ld break it down to you ,like my mentor would say “If you know better, you will do better” . I have been into governance in policy implementation . When it comes to Governance ,when it comes to managing people ,you have to know your people to serve them ,you have to know what the problems are ,what the solutions are and how to go about it .For me ,there are lots of avenues ,lots of ways and places to go into for support . Know your people ,Know thier problems ,proffer a “lasting” and “achievable” solutions. Whoever is ready to serve and also ready to lead will do tremendously well. The question we should always ask as potential leaders is “after my tenure ,how do i want the people to see me ?. What legacies should the other see and follow when you are done serving or when you are done with your tenure.? Politics shouldn’t be to intimidate the less oportuned but to raise them and make them stand on their own or by themselves. No one is better than anybody ,if you have the opportunity to serve the people do it with humility and to the best of your ability.
Alimosho TV: Challenges so far ?
KK: Challenges are bound to happen ,and I don’t see them as challenges ,I simply see them as what one need to go through to be prosperous. There are no challenges, when there’s God.
Nothing comes easy ,there’s absolute no one that will prefer not to be successful .We have to fight for what we want at every point in time of another phase in our Lives ,so for me personally ,I don’t have challenges because I have God ,if it’s written ,which I am certain it’s written “Alihamdulilai”
Alimosho TV:What do you think might / can be done to keep violence away from Politics?
KK : I met with three other contestants that are vying for House of representatives and I said to them talk to your followers ,we are here talking ,chilling because at the end of the day ,if anything happens, I don’t know about you ,but this is my father’s land,it still comes to me and we need to clear the mess .And ASIWAJU as said ” he made it clear that whosoever is caught causing rift or unrest between the aspirants will be disqualified”
So, in a nutshell, we need to stop bringing in thugs in politics, we need people with high intellectual acumen, like the lawyers , doctors and the likes. Most of these people or aspirants they fight for ,their kids aren’t even based in Nigeria ,yet they patronise the youths to be their political thugs at the expense of their own lives. I won’t tell no one not to die or harm himself ,but before you do ,think of your background ,think of the home you came out from. Do not be manipulated ,we all have to be aware of what’s going on in our environments ,it’s not a do or die affair ,we are going there to “SERVE” and it isn’t “HEREDITARY”.
