In furtherance of the efforts to actualize a greater Lagos in good time, as enshrined in the T. H. E. M. E. S agenda blueprint of the Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu led Lagos state government, the commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, today, joined and led the assignment to serve a final removal notice on occupiers of the popular Alaba Rago market, as carried out by the chairman, Lagos state taskforce on environment and special offences, CSP Sola Jejeloye.
As directed by the Lagos state government, removal stickers were pasted on strategic structures encircling the affected area of the market by the taskforce, chairman.
It will be recalled that, the Lagos state government team, has been in series of discussions with stakeholders of the market over the development as confirmed by the taskforce chairman, noting that, this was going to be the second phase of the regeneration project, maintaining that, the first phase was the completed construction of the expansive drainage meant to save the market from perennial flooding.
In addition to the laudable plan and vision to regenerate and modernize the Alaba Rago market to a 21st century masterpiece, recent discreet intelligence operations in the market have unravelled serious security threats, as over 24 illegal sophisticated firearms were recovered in the thick of the market.
