The Honourable representing Alimosho Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, assembly, Hon. Olufemi Adebanjo has described as total hypocrisy and act of betrayal to the APC leaders in Alimosho to have portrayed him in bad light all in the name of politics and attempt to foist their new found man on the good people of Alimosho Federal constituency.
In a speech made available to journalists on Thursday morning, Adebanjo said, ” It is a total betrayal and act of hypocrisy, callousness for some APC leaders in Alimosho to now tag me as being bad or not worthy to represent the constiuency any further. These are people that every now then praised me to high heaven and frolicked around me but not knowing they have another plans.”
“The common language is, Adebanjo is not performing, the records are there, as a legislator, I have sponsored 3 bills and supported several motions which made me number 4 in order of performance amongst Federal legislators from Lagos State. This is the actual reason to which I was elected for and I’m still pushing to do more.
“In the area of empowerment, millions of naira have been spent over the years to empower the constituents ranging from skills acquisition, cash grants, vehicles, motorcycles and lots in which all of these leaders were physically present, they were happy and commended my gesture. Is it to talk about my financial support to the federal constituency meetings? Several millions have been invested but today it is worrisome for their 360 turned around against me.”
” It is disturbing that a four – term elected person to represent Alimosho as an executive Chairman, a state legislator who also sponsored a most popular bill then – and – subsequently elected twice at the green chamber with records to show for it, with appointments to represent same constiuents twice,? If such an individual is not good in the estimation of some people now, then, all of us as a people needs be checked.”
Adebanjo stated further ” I was a huge financial contributor to the building of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Alimosho and up till now still spending to support our party, the All progressives congress. It will Interest the public that, Alhaji Ayinde Enilolobo and the current House of Assembly member in Alimosho Constituency’02, were once my personal assistants. I have actually paid my dues but all those saying bad things about my person today have forgotten that, the misunderstanding between me and Enilolobo today is a political issue – and – what if is resolved where would they place their conscience?
“For the records, aside the bills I sponsored, below are my physical contributions to my constiuency which is the largest in Lagos state; 8 tarred roads, 2 clinics built, solar boreholes to selected streets, solar street lights, building of schools amongst several others. So for me, posterity will make a decision on everyone, and especially on those who are bent on tarnishing my image for political gains.”
