The police is set to have launched a manhunt for five individuals accused of homosexuality, which is punishable by up to 14 years in prison under Nigerian law. The suspects, identified as Mr. Kayode Sunday Alli, Mr. Alaba Lawrence Koyejo, Oduntan Aina Sikiru, Olumide Johnson Ayodeji, Mr. Celestine Joshua Ameobi, and Sylvester Adamu Collins, are currently at large due to fear of arrest.
According to lifestyle reporter David Oghenevwahre, the group had been secretly engaging in homosexual activities for a long time, hiding it from public knowledge due to its unacceptability in Nigeria. Police officials from Lagos state confirmed that the suspects lack evidence to clear themselves of the charges.
