The Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Rally in Lagos State, Senator Ganiu Solomon, has called on the people of Lagos State, both members of the Party and Non-party members to attend the presidential rally slated for Saturday, 26th of November at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
This proposed rally that will be formally presenting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima to the people of Lagos state had been planned and organized to be the most outstanding of all the rallies ever done in the country.
Solomon, who described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most consistent and the biggest contributor to the development of democracy in Nigeria since the beginning of the 4th Republic said, in his speech, “You may wish to recall that he excelled as a Senator of the Federal Republic representing Lagos-West Senatorial District, and as the Governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007. Therefore, the event is like a homecoming for our leader and mentor who has become a national pride”.
“I wish to seize this opportunity to invite all our party leaders and members to this epoch-making and carnival-like event, as it will be an opportunity for our Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to address the people on his manifestos aptly tagged: “RENEWED HOPE”.
As the Director General of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu and the Chairman of APC’s Local Organizing Committee (LOC), Solomon has deemed it fit to seek the co-operation of the good people of Lagos State in relation to the temporary traffic diversion on the rally day.
He said, “As a responsible political party, it is imperative to seek the co-operation of general public as regards the need for temporary diversion of traffic and mass movement of supporters within the vicinity of the rally”.
“We need to reassure you that the Nigerian Police Force, LASTMA and other law enforcement agencies will be fully mobilized to ensure an event devoid of the security infractions and traffic disruptions.”
Ganiu enjoins the party members and those who will be attending the rally to be of good conduct.
The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, when asked about the expected numbers of the attendees for the rally, he said, “This is the first time a presidential candidate will be coming out of Lagos State from a ruling party at both the state and the federal levels, and not just a candidate, but man of great value with national appeal, hence, we are not restricting the numbers, neither will the people be coerced into attending. The people of Lagos are eagerly waiting for Asiwaju. It is really a homecoming”.
The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Dayo Isreal, on his part added, “The national leadership of our great party, all members of the national working committees and various support groups are in excitement to experience the APC’s Presidential Lagos rally”.
