New Chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit also known as taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, has taken up a strong start with “Operation Lagos Traffic Law Compliance in Oshodi”.
Leading the exercise with his officers and men, CSP Akerele ensured traffic inward and outward Oshodi axis of the Abeokuta-ExpressWay was completely free of the usual gridlock caused by motorists especially commercial drivers who readily flout traffic regulations.
The operation as expected led to the arrest and impoundment of 93 vehicles including the popular Danfos and Molues for the offence of unauthorised and indiscriminate parking and traffic obstruction along the corridor, contrary to the dictates of the Lagos State Traffic Law 2018 as amended.
Consequently, the taskforce chairman has warned the motoring public to treat the issue of compliance with traffic regulations in the State as a matter of responsibility, reiterating that, today’s operation, Saturday 29, June, 2024, is going to be sustained and replicated across the state going forward.
