Calvary greetings to our respected Elders, political leaders, party faithful, and the good people of Lagos Mainland. Once again, I extend to you all my heartfelt New Year wishes, with a deep sense of humility and a renewed commitment to serving you with purpose and dedication.
It is no longer news to us in Lagos, especially to the good people of Lagos Mainland, that the local government elections are fast approaching. Over the past year, we have witnessed a surge in jingles, campaign awareness, and political consultations. The political atmosphere has been charged, and various aspirants have been actively mobilizing and engaging with our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), with the goal of ensuring that the best candidate emerges, ART remain confident of his emergence.
This growing political momentum serves as a clear indication that the time for transition is drawing near. Our people, driven by a desire for meaningful change, have been working tirelessly to ensure that a candidate who truly embodies their hopes and aspirations will rise to the occasion. The recent inauguration of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) members by His Excellency, Mr. Governor, is a powerful reminder of the sacredness of this transition. Led by Justice Bola Okikiolu and five other commissioners, as part of their primary mandate is clear: to plan, organize, and deliver a free, fair, and credible election that reflects the will of the people of Lagos.
This inauguration also reminds us that transition is a fundamental right, as enshrined in our laws. For me, Ayodeji Rilwan Tinubu (ART 25), as an aspirant in this race, this marks the beginning of a renewed hope for Lagosians. My candidacy represents more than just a desire for office; it is a commitment to providing Lagos Mainlanders with a leadership that reflects responsibility, integrity, and a deep sense of duty to the people.
As we prepare for the upcoming elections, I salute the unwavering determination of our supporters who continue to advocate for a Lagos Mainland that works for all. Your commitment is the driving force behind this movement. My appeal to each and every one of us is to continue to maintain this zeal, to remain responsible in our advocacy for ART 25, and to remember that our collective strength lies in our unity and shared purpose.
Let us keep pushing forward with the belief that a better tomorrow is within our reach. Together, we can create a Lagos Mainland that truly reflects our shared values and aspirations.
It’s nothing but ART for a reason!
Ayodeji Rilwan Tinubu (ART 25)
