Lagos, Nigeria – In a bid to foster creativity and empower young people, the Lagos State Government has launched the maiden edition of the Eko Arts and Crafts Competition for secondary schools and tertiary institutions in the state.
The competition, which is part of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda, aims to discover, nurture, and showcase the immense talent that exists in Lagos’ educational institutions.
According to Damilola Ayinde Marshal, Esq., Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, “This competition is a strategic intervention that will bring our Governor’s vision to life. We believe that together, we can inspire more young people to embrace creativity and contribute meaningfully to the cultural and economic development of Lagos State.”
The objectives of the competition include fostering creativity, promoting cultural heritage, and developing skills that will support sustainable economic growth and innovation in the state.
The registration portal for the competition is now open, and students of secondary schools and tertiary institutions in Lagos State are encouraged to participate. Winners will not only receive recognition but also life-changing opportunities, including exposure to mentorship, exhibitions, and possible partnerships in the creative industry.
