…Community demands repair of Irebawa Street
The residents of Ward D in Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), have commended Mr David Olusegun Odunmbaku, for his kind gesture of setting up viewing centres across the council area.
The residents of the community ranging from youths, old, women, children, Okada riders, shop owners all trooped out to support Nigeria.
Before the FIFA World Cup play-off matches between Super Eagles of Nigeria and Black Stars of Ghana were shown at Irebawa Street, the council has displayed African Cup of Nations (AFCON) matches at Ogba Oluwole Estate, the matches including Nigeria versus Tunisia in the Round of 16 and final match between Senegal versus Egypt for the residents.
Meanwhile, in line with his H.E.Y.S agenda, Odunmbaku also empowered a viewing centre owner identified as Yusuf Oladehinde, with 58 inches Smart TV, 3.5kva generator and OX industrial 26″ standing fan.
Reacting to the items received, Oladehinde thanked the council boss for the empowerment. “This is massive, it’s coming at the right time, I have not seen the kind of empowerment, this is first of its kind. I’m grateful for this.”
Mr Qadri Taiwo, Leader of Irebawa Community youths in Ogba also praised the council chair for the viewing centre and empowerment. He made the commendation while addressing viewers during Nigeria versus Ghana match on Tuesday. “We thank the Executive Chairman, Hon Olusegun Odunmbaku for fulfilling his campaign promises, this will forever be in our hearts. But like Oliver Twist, we want more, we want him to help us repair Irebawa Street for us to enable good road networks around Ojodu,” Qadri said.
The Diaspora Coordinator of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Mr Kunle Osunlalu, also commended Odunmbaku and appealed to the government to continue youth-oriented programs to curb crime in the community.
