The Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment has restated its continuous support for the informal sector as they Celebrate their 15th Tradesmen and Artisans Day at De Blue Roof, Ltv 8 Compound, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.
Themed: Creating 21st Century Artisans for Sustainable Economic Growth.
The Honorable Commissioner was overwhelmed with joy for the well-attended gathering that had members of the state executives councils, professionals, and major companies representatives in the state, in his welcome address, he appreciated Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment towards empowering tradesmen and artisans in Lagos State.
Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe remarked that, Artisans are the backbone of the economy. From crafting quality products to delivering essential services as their contributions are vital to job creation, local production while reducing dependency on imports.
The Honourable Commissioner expressed the determination of the government through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment in training and capacity building programs investment, access to affordable finance and platforms for market access and digital transformation.
Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe urged the Tradesmen and Artisans to embrace creativity and innovation as their craftsmanship drives economic development, job creation and social transformation.
