Over one thousand constituents of Alimosho Constituency II, have benefitted from the free dental healthcare outreach, organised by the member representing Alimosho Constituency II, in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Kehinde Olaide Joseph.
Hon Kehinde Joseph, who is the organizer of the healthcare outreach, said, this is not the first time he’s organising healthcare outreach for his constituents because the health and wellness of his constituents is of utmost importance to him.
“As the representative of the people, it’s expedient that I care for my people, which my party stands for. All Progressives Congress, APC, is known for progress and we must do the right thing”, he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr Kayode Akinwunmi, said he’d been experiencing toothache but was using herbs to suppress the pain. He noted that the free dental care served as a saving grace for him.
Another beneficiary said she’d visited the hospital but the money charged was exorbitant and she could not afford it, adding the exercise was a great support for her to check her teeth and clean it up.
“I believe more lives can be impacted if other politicians would organise programmes that touch people at the grassroots”, she noted.
The lead dental consultant of Colgate Palmolive Company, Dr Femi Adebayo, who was in charge of the exercise, explained that the beneficiaries were opportuned to undergo extraction, filling, scaling, polishing and as well as oral talk on how to have good oral hygiene.
“We observed that majority don’t understand the technique of brushing the teeth a d we have made them realise that not until they have issue with their teeth or pain before they go for check-up”, stressed.
