Lagos, Nigeria — A group of individuals alleged to be members of a homosexual network has been arrested in connection with allegations relating to sexual orientation. Some of the suspects were reportedly granted bail but later failed to appear for further engagements with investigators, prompting what sources described as an ongoing manhunt by security authorities.
According to sources familiar with the matter, several of those arrested were released on bail but subsequently became unreachable. Their whereabouts remain unknown, and security agencies are reportedly making efforts to locate them, although official details surrounding the case remain limited.
Efforts by our correspondent to obtain reactions from relatives and associates of some of the suspects were unsuccessful. Repeated attempts to reach individuals believed to have been present during the arrests also proved abortive, as their telephone lines were not reachable as of the time of filing this report.
Further investigations indicate that security operatives are intensifying efforts to track down the suspects and identify other persons believed to have close links or associations with them. However, the extent and nature of the ongoing operation could not be independently verified.
Sources claimed that the following individuals have been declared wanted: Amaka Uzo (F), Sandra Chibuzor (F), Malaki Emmanuel (M), Morufat Asiru (F), and Bose Kolawole (F). Authorities are said to be making efforts to apprehend them. The development has added a new dimension to a case that has already generated public discussion about the treatment of LGBTQ individuals in Nigeria.
