The chairman of Apapa local government, Hon Elijah Owolabi has been tasked to account for the thirty five million naira (ALT) he collected from the council under spurious heading In the last one week.
The council boss has been accused of clandestine move to decamp from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) having lost his bid for a second term.
In a press release made available to journalists on Saturday by the Apapa Liberation Team (ALT) signed by it publicity Director, Comrade Lanre Owosheni on a rebuttal of the embattled council boss, urges ” all well meaning Nigerians to discountenance the tissue of lies being peddled by Hon. Adele”
The ALT Media person disclosed that the council chairman should be seen as a drowning man who will always do everything, including unsubstantiated claims to want to wriggle out.
According to him, ” the question to ask him is for him to tell the world, what he plans to do with the huge amount of #35 million from the council purse this week. He and some of his aides have been telling who cares to listen that they will use the money to prosecute the return bid in another party, though he may deny, but the fact remains, what he intends doing when he has just lost the primary election. ”
The chairman in the words of ALT can’t be trusted as he “speaks from both sides of the mouth” ”
The group finally appealed to the party to keep watch over his clandestine moves and punish him accordingly, in consonance with the lay down rules of the party.
“We want to appeal to our party to continue to closely watch this desperate politician so that he won’t ruin the goodwill being enjoyed by our party in the local government and beyond. Adele is a man who will go to any length, either genuine or not to discredit our party. His case should be looked into in agreement with the dictate of our party’s constitution”,ALT concluded.
” We have it on good authority that he is doing everything to cover up his claims to the money he looted recently and we will not relent until this case is properly looked into. “
