Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, and the Chief Executive Officer of Primero Transport Services Ltd., Fola Tinubu, have rallied support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, setting a target of three million votes for the President in Lagos State in the 2027 presidential election.
The trio made the declaration on Friday during the inauguration of the Fola Tinubu (FT) Support Group for the PBAT 2027 campaign office in Ikeja, Lagos. The event was attended by leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who pledged their commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obanikoro, who is the Director-General of the Dr. Obafemi Hamzat Campaign Organisation, said the inauguration was part of a broader strategy to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and mobilise massive support for President Tinubu across Lagos.
“Our target this time around is to secure three million votes for President Tinubu in Lagos during the 2027 presidential election,” Obanikoro said. He called on APC leaders, members and stakeholders to unite, reconcile their differences, and ensure that eligible voters obtain and safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
He said the campaign would focus on unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation across Lagos State’s 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas, stressing the need for party members to work together to secure victory for the APC and affirming that President Bola Tinubu has what it takes to transform Nigeria.
Former Speaker Ikuforiji also urged APC members to intensify their mobilisation efforts and encourage increased voter participation in the 2027 elections. He noted that despite Lagos having more than six million registered voters, only about 28 per cent participated in the last election.
“If half of the six million registered voters come out to vote for President Tinubu, Governor Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates, success is ours,” Ikuforiji said, insisting that Lagos should deliver nothing less than three million votes for President Tinubu.
On his part, Fola Tinubu said the FT Support Group would extend its mobilisation campaign beyond Lagos, with plans to engage voters across the South-West. He disclosed that rallies and grassroots engagements would be organised in Ogun, Ekiti and Oyo states as part of efforts to build support for the President’s re-election.
According to him, the group’s primary objective is to educate voters about President Tinubu’s reforms and policies, particularly those aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economy and social infrastructure.
Also speaking, Chief Sunday Udeh, President-General of the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos, assured President Tinubu of the support of the Igbo community in the state. He said the community had resolved to support the President’s re-election bid and vote for the APC in the 2027 elections.
