The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, hosted a grand inter-faith prayer session in solidarity with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections. The prayer session was held at the prestigious Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
The gathering was convened to offer prayers for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; the Vice President, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima; and the Deputy Governor of Lagos State and incoming Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.
Prayers were also offered for the incoming Deputy Governor, Princess Damilola Sonayon James, as well as all other APC candidates contesting various elective positions across Lagos State. The gathering reflected the party’s collective desire for peace, unity, victory and continued progress in Lagos and Nigeria.
Representatives of the Christian, Muslim and Traditional religious communities across Lagos State were present in strong numbers, coming together in the spirit of unity to seek divine guidance, wisdom and blessings for the nation’s leaders and the APC family.
The event was attended by members of the Lagos State Executive Council, APC leaders, Local Government Chairmen, members of the State Party Executive Committee, APC candidates, traditional rulers and a large gathering of party members and supporters.
Beyond the prayers, the gathering served as a powerful demonstration of unity among the people of Lagos, bringing together political, religious and traditional institutions under one roof. It underscored a shared commitment to peace, stability, good governance and the continued advancement of Lagos State under the APC.
