The Lagos4Lagos movement is a unifying factor for all Lagosians within and outside the country, says the Grand Patron of IBILE – EKO FORUM, Mr. Abdul – Azeez Olajide Adediran, during the inauguration of the executives of Ibeju – Lekki Local Government and Lekki Local Council Development Area.
Jandor, as he is fondly called, said Lagos4Lagos has a different meaning to different people, and both the Igbos, Hausa, South – South and other ethnic groups have found their own expression in the movement.
It could be recalled that both the South – South and Arewa groups met recently to finalise plans to inaugurate thier local structures in alignment with the Lagos4Lagos movement.
Speaking to the newly inaugurated executives and invited guests, Jandor said “We are more united than before, and this can be attributed to the Lagos4Lagos initiative which knows no political party.
“As I speak, Lagosians in the United Kingdom will be meeting in few hours from now to hold their regular meeting towards making Lagos work for Lagos,” he noted.
Also speaking, the Principal Coordinator of the Lagos indigenous group, Mr. Bode Makinde, showered praises on the group’s members in Ibeju-Lekki who had put in place a befitting inaugural event, showing their readiness to take up the challenge of uniting Lagosians.
Makinde said that the group in weeks to come is expected to have a rapid increase in its member base.
Earlier in his opening remark, the leader of IBILE – EKO in Ibeju – Lekki, Hon. Nicholas Akobada, declared the members readiness to see ‘Lagos4Lagos’ to fruition.
Aside the cultural display by the indigenous group, the members also had interactive session on the progress of the state.
