Just as people of Osun state will be electing another governor on Saturday,a call has gone to them to allow peaceful election in the state.
This admonition was made on Wednesday in Oshogbo,the Osun state capital by the Nigerians Unite for Asiwaju in press release issued and signed by its National Coordinator,Otunba Remilekun Balogun ,appealing to the people to troop out en masse to vote for the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),Governor Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola.
The pan Nigerian group disclosed that the wonderful projects of the incumbent Governor necessitated the support of the group for him and that the issue of continuity is critical for delivery of dividends of democracy.
In his words ” on the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun state,we ,at the Nigerians Unite for Asiwaju will be calling on the people of the state to embark on the electoral process without rancour on Saturday as there is no life should be taken for the sake of electing a candidate. ”
Continuing” it’s also critical to urge the people of Osun to vote for Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Saturday in order for the continuity of his wonderful projects scattered all over the state,which we have seen and applauded.”
The group equally called in the election umpires,the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to organize a free,fair and credible election as witnessed in the last gubernatorial election in Ekiti state in June,while warning the security agencies not to take sides in the election for a credible poll “as we prepare for the general elections next year”, he concluded
